Chief Judge Timothy J. Koenig Serves on Third District Court of Appeal Panel

Chief Judge Timothy J. Koenig of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit was recently appointed by Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Carlos Muñiz to serve as an appellate judge on the Third District Court of Appeal in Miami. This marks the first time a circuit judge from the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit has been selected to serve in this capacity on an appellate court.

During his two-day assignment, Chief Judge Koenig sat on appellate panels with judges of the Third District Court of Appeal, including Chief Judge Edwin A. Scales III, where he participated in the review and consideration of criminal appeals. Chief Judge Koenig’s appointment highlights the continued collaboration between Florida’s trial and appellate courts and reinforces the judicial branch’s commitment to maintaining the efficient administration of justice across all levels of court.

The Sixteenth Judicial Circuit congratulates Chief Judge Koenig on this distinguished appointment and his continued service to the people of Monroe County and the State of Florida.
