Summary

 

This position provides clerical support in areas of moderate responsibility to the Court Administrator's Office and acts as the receptionist of

the Freeman Justice Center.  This position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Answers telephone and gives information to callers or routes call to appropriate official and places outgoing calls;
  • Greet visitors, ascertains nature of business, and conducts visitors to employer or appropriate person;
  • Assists with scheduling of courtrooms and conference rooms;
  • Composes routine administrative correspondence;
  • Works on special court projects as directed by supervisor;
  • Performs additional clerical tasks such as processing incoming mail, filing, faxing, and photocopying;

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

     Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university; and two years of experience in business administration, office skills or
     related field.

     Progressively responsible administrative, administrative support or fiscal experience may substitute for the recommended college training on
     year for year basis.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Knowledge of and ability to use correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively
before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability of and ability to perform basis mathematical operations, bookkeeping and simple statistics. Ability to plan and prepare budgets, reports,
correspondence and charts in a variety of formats.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft Products such as Microsoft 365, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
