Non-evidentiary civil hearings requiring 30 minutes or less may be set on the Court’s Civil or Probate Open Motion Dockets by contacting the Civil/Probate Case Manager, Jason Smith at jason.smith@keyscourts.net or 305-295-3620. The setting of all hearings require the availability of all counsel.

ZOOM PROCEDURES AND DECORUM

When participants sign on, they are in a waiting room until their case is called.  The Open Motion Docket begins at 9 am, and all participants for all cases scheduled will be in the waiting room.  Each case may take up to 30 minutes, although that is unusual.  Please be patient until your case is called and you are admitted into the hearing room.

All participants are reminded that this is a courtroom, albeit a virtual one, and the rules of procedure and decorum apply just as though you were appearing in the courtroom in person, including but not limited to proper attire, no distractions, no multi-tasking, no cell phones or other devices, no pets, no smoking, no eating, no outbursts, interrupting or talking out of turn. When speaking, address the court only. Do not address your remarks, comments or arguments to other participants.

Make sure you have a device to attend the hearing and an appropriate location to sit during the hearing, free of distractions. Test your set up ahead of time to ensure there is no echoing or any other technical issue.

Make sure zoom displays the participant’s proper name.

Thank you for your cooperation.
